About

I’m a freelance writer/author whose home base is in Hastings, Ontario, Canada.

My writing journey began when I found myself alone with the need to share my thoughts. I started writing daily in a Journal. That was thirty years ago. Since then, I’ve moved through many life changes.

Although I began writing journals and recording memories for my own enjoyment, it wasn’t until 2003 that I began to write more seriously with the idea of one day being published.   In July 2006 I sold my first story to The Country Connections Magazine. For several years I was a frequent contributor to the magazine. I also had stories published in Cycle Canada and Canadian Biker.

In 2008 I wrote and self-published my first book, Celebrating Twenty-five Years at Millbrook Manor. Hearing the personal stories of the residents at Millbrook Manor in Millbrook, Ontario, sparked my interest in researching family trees and recording the many interesting stories that I felt should be passed down through the generations. What better place to start than with the wonderful memories of my partner, Jim Victor, and his ninety-six year old mother, Audrey? It took a couple of years of recording the stories Jim and his mother shared while out on Sunday drives, and a few interviews with Audrey, when I learned some things Jim claimed he never knew. In January of 2012 Through Thick and Thin – A History of the Audrey and Ernie Victor Family was published.

In 2013 we purchased a motorhome and began a life of traveling to Arizona and other destinations, so my writing became a travel blog. COVID 19 put an end to travel after we returned home in the spring of 2020. While traveling, I developed an interest in photography and have sold some pictures on stock photography sites.

Since then, I joined the online writing site, FanStory, where I have many short stories posted. Some even won contests. With encouragement from other writers, several published authors, I decided to try my hand at writing a work of fiction. After submitting one chapter a week, my historical romance novel was born. A few revisions later, the final draft of Being Grace was self-published in March of 2023.
